Autonomous Detection Nucleic Acids (AUDENA)

The first and most feasible objective of MARA is the development of a novel class of single stranded DNA probes that comprise an aptamer-like structure (Seligo) for target detection and a DNAzyme for signal reporting (Fig 1).

The third and most ambitious objective in the MARA project is the development of a tiny (100 nm) molecular drill that can specifically identify target cells and destroy them by altering their osmotic system.
